Summit Seeker Website Design

Design Process

Research & Ideation: Conducted preliminary research into outdoor activity websites to understand user needs and common features. Focused on creating an engaging, nature-inspired aesthetic that would resonate with outdoor enthusiasts.

UI/UX Design: Developed comprehensive user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups. Prioritized intuitive navigation for news, reviews, and search functionalities to ensure users could easily find relevant content.

Visual Language: Selected a color palette dominated by greens, browns, and earthy tones to evoke a sense of nature and adventure. Designed custom icons that resonate with the hiking theme and outdoor lifestyle.

Prototyping: Created interactive prototypes in Figma to simulate user journeys and refine interactions, ensuring a seamless user experience across all touchpoints.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenge: Visual Consistency

Ensuring that the natural theme felt cohesive across all pages without becoming overwhelming or clichéd.

Solution: Created a strict style guide for colors, typography, and iconography that maintained the nature theme while ensuring professional presentation.

Challenge: Information Hierarchy

Organizing diverse content (news, reviews, search) in a way that was easy for users to digest and navigate.

Solution: Implemented clear section headings, card-based layouts, and prominent search functionality to create intuitive content organization.
